Nodal officers appointed for pendency of litigations in J&K | KNO

Srinagar, May 30 (KNO): The government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed the nodal officers to monitor the court cases of all the departments pending before the high court tribunal benches at both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. As per an official communique the Union Territory administration has also furnished the mandate and duties for the particular nodal officer. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a separate appointment for both the divisional benches was made by the government of Jammu and Kashmir. They said the designated nodal officers shall be responsible for keeping liaison with all the law officers posted at different departments/offices for effective monitoring of courts. They said the nodal officers have been directed to file replies to all petitions in time bound manner so that no adverse order is passed and also there should be liaison with the office of learned advocate general and shall directly report to him. The nodal officers as per the officials have also been asked to submit the report after every 15 days to the department of law, justice and parliamentary affairs and staff in the office can be used for assistance as per the requirements. All the law officials posted in different departments have also been directed to provide the possible assistance to the nodal officers, the officials said. Earlier, a committee was also formed under the advocate general D C Raina to work out on a mechanism for speedy disposal of litigations pending before the high court and tribunals. The three-member panel comprised of commissioner secretary, General Administration Department Farooq Lone and administrative secretary , Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Achal Sethi has been mandated to evolve a mechanism to expedite disposal of petitions pending before the High Court and other tribunals/ benches in the Union Territory—(KNO)
